New Team Member’s Guide
Welcome to Gracie Barra West Loop, we are so happy and excited to have you onboard joining the team. As Gracie Barra team members we would like to say you just made one of the best decisions of your life joining our family and starting your Jiu-Jitsu journey.
If you look around Gracie Barra schools you will see everyone embracing challenges, searching for health and greatness. Yes, Jiu-Jitsu can do it all for you and much more!
Our team of instructors are trained in the teaching philosophy and methods of Master Carlos Gracie Jr., the founder of Gracie Barra. A legacy of over 30 years of teaching experience is at your service, so you don’t have to worry: you and your family are in great hands. To give you an extra hand and help you feel at home we have prepared a guide for new team members.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
Training Etiquette – The rules of conduct for Jiu-Jitsu and for practice on the mats exist to create a harmonious environment in the dojo during classes.

Facebook Group – Our group is family friendly! It was created to unite all our members. As we have students from 4 years old to 80 years old, we have to set an example and avoid all that content that strays from the subjects: Jiu-Jitsu, health lifestyle and friendship. To participate, just ask one of our Instructors to send you the invitation.
GB Online – A platform where all Gracie Barra team members can connect, learn and develop their Jiu-Jitsu. We consider GB Online the ideal tool to complement the teachings taught here at the School.

GB Wear – A platform that sells official Gracie Barra kimonos and apparel with the aim of expressing the values of the Team through its gear that inspire thousands of team members around the world. We consider GB Wear the ideal tool to complement the pro shop we offer here at the School.

CompNet – It is the Global Jiu-Jitsu League formed by Gracie Barra members who seek to achieve excellence through competitive Jiu-Jitsu. The league was created to promote a culture of positive competition and to value high-level Jiu-Jitsu. We consider CompNet the preferred competitive arena for our School’s athletes.
By embracing Jiu-Jitsu, the Gracie Barra West Loop Team members create habits that lead to a better quality of life and well-being. Winning is not an end in itself but the beginning, because at GB WL, we believe the efforts of our members to strive in Jiu-Jitsu will be applied to life in the real world.
